Nintendo makes Aussiies aware of WiiWare launch!

Opinion and Analysis

Nintendo are set to launch the following games this week:

WiiWare Games, Star Soldier R, Dr. Mario & Germ Buster, Toki Tori Take 2, TV Show King and the previously mentioned Lost Winds and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a King titles.

WiiWare is also a voting mechanism to determine which games are the best. Nintendo characterises it as “empowering consumers to determine with their Wii Points which games have the ability to become the next big thing”.

Nintendo emphasises the importance of its consumers, saying they will “assist in the creative process as their choices will directly determine the success of current projects and direct the plans for future ones.”
Nintendo promises “something for everyone on WiiWare” with a “wide range of games from varying genres, concepts and price levels.”

All Nintendo needs to do now is to add more flexibility to online game playing, instead of relying on friend codes, and Nintendo’s online transformation will be complete.

But even with the friend code scenario, the Wii continues transforming itself into an ever more capable games console, and looks set to rule the sales tally roost – and the hearts, minds and wallets of consumers – for quite some tiime to come!
