The Government has offered Australia's three mobile operators, and vividwireless, renewal of their existing spectrum allocated on 15 year licences in the late 90s and early 2000s at set prices, while the Government expects to rake in $3 billion.
Microsoft’s explanations for Sound Themes continue: “Both of the new Ultimate Extras sound schemes embody more percussive elements in contrast to the soft edges of the default Windows Vista sound scheme and they extend the existing sound design language established by Windows XP and Windows Vista.”
The explanations conclude with: “Functionally, the percussive elements of these sound schemes may also help users hear Windows events from a greater distance, if that is desired. They are intended to provide an extended personalization option for users who wish to differentiate their Windows Vista Ultimate experience from the default experience.”
So, when might Vista Ultimate users of the world be blessed with more Ultimate Extras?
Well, you’d think Microsoft might well be more forthcoming with information on when Ultimate users could, after having spent all that money, expect to see some more Extras.
But the best that Microsoft can do for now is found at the end of the Windows Vista Team Blog posting on the new extras themselves.
Here we are told: “And be sure you keep your eyes on UltimatePC.com for more Ultimate Extra news in future as well as hot Ultimate Exclusives for Windows Vista Ultimate users.”
So, the promises of “hot” Ultimate Extras continue to emerge from Microsoft, as they have since before Vista was even officially released.
I guess Microsoft are, at least, consistent in making promises. Fingers crossed they will still deliver... before Windows 7 is released! :-)
