Smarthouse gets knickers in a twist over Microsoft Xbox response

Opinion and Analysis

Smarthouse then criticises the fact that Microsoft’s upcoming games line-up consists of games that are available on other platforms.

This is only of concern if you don’t own an Xbox 360, but a PS3 or a Wii. If you own an Xbox 360, it’s great news. You can get some amazing games, in what will be stunning HD quality, as good as or better than the PS3 and miles better than the Wii.

That said, if you own two or even three of the next-gen consoles, you’ll have to make a choice as to which version you’ll buy... I’m sure that reviews in magazines and websites will help you make that decision.

Still, Smarthouse does note that Sony does have some exclusive titles coming for the PS3, including “Resistance 2, Kill Zone, Motorstorm,  Little Big Planet, Bull Quiz TV and Zero Chrome.”

What does this mean for Microsoft? It means they need to work harder to get some great exclusives of their own, or convince those only making games for the PS3 to take advantage of the huge number of global Xbox 360 owners too. I’m sure Microsoft is working very hard at that, I certainly would be.

Smarthouse then notes that Nintendo also has several of its own blockbuster games such as “Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero III, Endless Ocean” and upcoming titles including Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, Top spin 3, Alone In The Dark and Super Smash Brothers Brawl”.

Hey, it’s great to have big games and exclusives on the Wii, too. They didn’t help the Gamecube. But the Wii is certainly something special, and it’s a thorn in both Sony’s and Microsoft’s side.

Onto the final page, dear readers, where we have fun exploring the last parts of the Smarthouse article... please read onto page 5.
