007's underwater car is no longer fiction!

Opinion and Analysis

Sadly, although the car will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2008, there are no plans for mass production as yet.

Costing well over US $1.5 million to manufacture, and needing the vision of one of the world’s most dedicated automotive enthusiasts to create, the sQuba is the fulfilment of a dream, proving Walt Disney famous quote: “It you can dream it, you can do it”.

While the future may see submersible cars become common, they are today in the same spot as flying cars: a science fiction breakthrough that has, at last, become science fact, but still far too expensive to mass produce anytime soon.

Still, they show the incredible ingenuity of the human mind and spirit, and will no doubt inspire many to once again truly believe that virtually anything is possible if you want it badly enough!
