Polaris opens specialist software testing lab in Australia

Opinion and Analysis

Indian software giant Polaris has opened their newest specialist software testing lab in Sydney, Australia, in conjunction with the NSW Government, giving their customers in the banking, financial services, insurance, manufacturing and services worlds access to a 24/7 global testing capability, massively improving software reliability.
Polaris Software is one of India’s top information technology companies, and call themselves an integrated global technology solution provider. Besides software testing, Polaris also develops specialty applications for the banking, financial and insurance sectors, with over 9000 ‘solution architects, domain experts and technology experts’ and a large library of IP and seven banking platforms.

They have already set up testing labs, called ‘PACE’ or Polaris Application Certification Enterprise – in the US, Canada, Northern Ireland and India.

Now Sydney joins the list, with Sydney set to focus on “application performance diagnostics and managed testing services”. The Indian operation focuses on domain based testing and regression test automation, the Belfast operation in Ireland focuses on the East European banking community, while Toronto in Canada works on performance engineering.

The new Australian labs give Polaris a 24/7 testing capability, while also being able to easily service clients in the Australasian and South East Asian regions.

Polaris say they goal is to deliver zero defect software, with their mission described as being “to deliver high performance technology based business applications on cost on time”, and saying that “software testing plays a critical part in delivering this mission”. They conclude by saying that their PACE lab has three clear focus areas: “enable high performance, reduce release time and minimise post implementation pain areas”.

Arun Jain, the CEO and Chairman of the Polaris Software Lab was at the official launch, and said that “Sydney has a long and rich history in banking and financial services and thus would be the most suitable location to support the complex requirements of leading banks in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand”.

Jain continued that: “We are very excited about launching the Sydney PACE Lab, as this will complete a truly global, 24/7 PACE, and maximise the throughput in testing. The vision of the NSW Government has helped us achieve this”.

Polaris say that using the synchronised and unique global PACE methodology, the lab will be able to reduce the process cycle time by over 50% for Polaris customers in the region, and say that more facilities are planned for Australia and New Zealand in the future.
