Just because you have an opinion - or a non-opinion, for that matter - you don't have to share it with the world.


The announcement of the engagement of Prince WIlliam and Kate Middleton has unsurprisingly caused their names to hit the  list of trending terms on Twitter.

Nor is it a surprise that a proportion of those tweets prove the truth of this remarkably timely Joy of Tech cartoon.

What happened to the old adage "If you can't say something good, why say anything at all?

For example, why does Adam McDonald think anyone would care that he "cannot even begin to describe how much I don't care"? I've nothing against Mr McDonald, but it's a good example. And at least I'm comfortable quoting it here, which isn't the case with the version 'trishtoro' delivered.

If you don't care, shut up about it! Otherwise you are merely encouraging the chatter. Similarly, if you think the media is giving too much attention to the news, turn off the TV and radio, don't buy the magazines and newspapers, and don't click on any links that mention it.

Am I being hypocritical? Please read on before you judge.
