So how much is this iPad thing going to cost in Australia?

The short answer is "we don't know yet." All Apple is saying is "International pricing and worldwide availability will be announced at a later date."

So feel free to move along if you don't want to join me in some speculation - and I wouldn't blame you, because I'm getting tired of iPad speculation too.

My excuse is that someone close to me wants an iPad. Indeed, it's not unthinkable that we'll end up with more than one in the house.

So let us take a look at Apple's prices.

We know the US price for the base model iPad is going to be $US499.
