Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
It seems that Mac OS X 10.6.2 is getting close to release, as there's only one known issue left to be fixed. Notably, the guest account bug in Snow Leopard has been squashed.
According to the seed notes for Mac OS X 10.6.2 build 10C527f (as reproduced by World of Apple), the only issue still waiting to be fixed is that Image Capture returns a black image when scanning in black & white and image correction is set to manual.
Other Image Capture issues - involving Nikon, Canon and Sony cameras, plus FireWire card readers - have been fixed.
The 'fixed list' also refers to "an issue that might cause your system to logout unexpectedly". Hopefully this is the issue that has been associated with Rosetta, the software component that allows the use of PowerPC applications on Intel-based Macs.
While less devastating that the Guest account issue, this problem can result in lost data if it occurs when a document has not been saved recently. For some users, the problem seems more or less random; others report that it is reproducible.
10.6.2 addresses a variety of other problems. When testing the latest build, developers have been asked to focus on AFP, AppKit, BezelServices, ColorSync, CoreServices UIAgent, graphics drivers (including stuttering when playing 1080p content in QuickTime Player X), iChat, Image Capture, ipsec, Persistence, QuartzComposer, QuartxCore, and QuickTime Player.
The update is supposed to fix (among other problems) graphics distortion in Safari's Top Sites feature (another issue that's been relatively widely reported), a couple of Address Book issues, and Safari plug-in reliability, as well as delivering "general reliability improvements for iWork, iLife, Aperture, Final Cut Studio, MobileMe, and iDisk".
