Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Adobe and Omniture have reached agreement on the acquisition of the web analytics specialist for approximately $US1.8 billion cash.
The plan is to incorporate Omniture's analytics, measurement and optimisation technology into Adobe's content creation and client software.
(Those concerned about Flash cookies are probably getting really worried by this news.)
"Adobe customers are looking to us for solutions to deliver engaging experiences and more effectively monetize their content and applications online," said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief executive officer of Adobe.
"This is a game changer for both Adobe and our customers. We will enable advertisers, media companies and e-tailers to realise the full value of their digital assets."
(This deal should clear any remaining question about whether Adobe is more concerned with the organisations that buy its software than the person in the street that installs Flash Player or Adobe Reader in order to access web content.)
Once the transaction is completed (it's still subject to government approval and other conditions, but should go through during Adobe's current fiscal quarter), Omniture CEO Josh James will become an Adobe senior vice president in charge of the resulting business unit.
One of the things Adobe likes about the acquisition is that it will bring recurring revenue to the company, as Omniture runs a high-volume SaaS business.
