Apple has released updates for iLife 08's iDVD and Media Browser. But the company has left users in the dark about exactly what misbehaviours the patches are supposed to correct.
In Apple's usual vague manner, the iLife Media Browser Update is merely said to improve overall stability and address a number of minor issues.
Am I the only one that would like to know whether a particular issue that I'm experiencing is supposed to be fixed or not by a certain update?
What I'd really like to see is improved performance when the Media Browser first attempts to display the iTunes music library.
When I activate iDVD's Magic DVD feature, there's a delay of around 30 seconds while the program waits for the iTunes library to be listed by the Media Browser.
This problem has been known to Apple since late 2007.
30 seconds isn't a huge amount out of a lifetime, but the library concerned only contains some 1600 items - which I don't regard as particularly large - and the delay is a regular source of irritation.
What's my workaround? And what about the iDVD update? Find out on
