A minor update to the Google Gadgets component of Google Desktop provides localisation in nine additional languages.

Google Gadgets now supports US English, UK English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Google Gadgets are similar to Mac OS X's Dashboard widgets, but the software allows cross-platform development.

In related news, the Windows version has finally lost its beta status and is now available in 31 languages.
