Yahoo! explains MS rebuff to shareholders

Opinion and Analysis

That sounds to me like an admission that the company has made some mistakes coupled with a claim that the actions it has taken to correct them will result in things getting better.

Shareholders will need to decide whether they trust the existing board and management to deliver, if they think a Microsoft-Yahoo! merger will be more profitable for them (Microsoft is offering a mix of cash and stock), or if some other tie-up is the way to go.

Yahoo! shares closed on February 14 at $US29.98, still below Microsoft's $US31 offer.
