I’m not a gamer but my kids and all their friends are. They’ve never quite forgiven me for buying them an Xbox a couple of years ago (on the advice of a friend) instead of a PlayStation 2.
After each visit to the local Block Buster, I
kept getting reminded of why I’ve been in the doghouse for the past two
years. The choice of games for PS2 is just so much greater.
I’m not sure that the PS2 was that much better as a games console than
the Xbox but, if sales are anything to go by, as far as the market was
concerned, it was about five times better.
Then along came Xbox 360 late last year, so far ahead of the competition that all Sony and Nintendo could do was watch.
