This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the Australia's leading financial services providers with operations in multiple locations around the country. The organisation is a leading provider of banking services to financial institutions with a diverse and comprehensive product suite and a long term AA credit rating.

The Infrastructure Team is responsible for supporting systems hardware, operational support services, back up devices, cabling and racking of systems across the organisation. This is a complex mission critical environment with a large client basis, so requires technically savvy and commercially aware engineers. The team is responsible for supporting the technical environment and work in a roster to cover 8am till 6pm head office 3rd level support for all the infrastructure services, with on-call out of hours cover facilitated through remote access from home locations.

This position is to lead the team of Server Analysts and Systems Specialists, providing team supervision, technical guidance and internal relationship building. There is a large element of both internal and external communication with other technology teams, business representatives, external vendors and end clients. Longer term goals of the position include wider responsibilities for operational strategy, performance tuning, infrastructure solution design, process improvement, business continuity planning and compliance.

The position requires the incumbent to have a broad range of IT skills and be capable of working in an environment that requires flexibility, problem solving, delegation and strong interpersonal skills.

Technical experience required include:

• Leading a team of Infrastructure Analysts
• 5 years+ server support (Solaris, HP-UX)
• 5 years+ as Systems Administrator on mission critical systems
• Online applications ⁄ servers (J2EE, Websphere)
• Storage Experience - EMC SAN
• Cluster Servers
• Shell Programming

Non technical skills required include:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self sufficient, highly motivated, resourceful individual
• Be a problem owner and solver with a logical approach to solving issues
