This
is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the world's most
recognisable Financial Services organisations with operations all
around the world. Two positions are being created in a business
critical team that is responsible for the development, implementation
and support for finance applications ⁄ systems across the globe. They require two experienced SQL Database Administrators for a
specific project of work on two market specific systems. A recent data
migration and application software upgrade project has been completed
for the Australian markets and the success of which they are looking to
replicate in the two additional markets (1 Asia Pacific, 1 European).
Both markets have specific variations in data configuration, so whilst
looking to emulate the current successful project you will also be
required to interact with the development team and business users to
understand these differences. The two positions will work together closely to identify synergies
in the data mining, mapping, testing and optimisation of code for both
markets. Due to the nature of the environment and expected downtimes
for testing, there could be additional scope to assist with other areas
of the business and specific input to the optimizing of existing stored
procedures. The current database systems have evolved without formal
review over time and require an experienced and diligent problem
solver. Responsibilities include: - Analysis of Data Configuration for Australian market
- Data migration ⁄ replication for two major global markets
- Data Conversion Project
- Profiling of Test Database
- Back end Database Work including Data Mining ⁄ Cleansing
- Optimisations ⁄ Performance Tuning
- Provide recommendations for SQL server upgrade strategy
- Participation in regular global conference calls (pre-post standard working day)
Technical skills required include: - 3 - 5 Years Experience as a SQL DBA
- Strong understanding of SQL queries (including Stored Procedures, Triggers)
- Previous lead experience in Database conversion projects for SQL Server 2000
Non technical skills required include: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self sufficient, highly motivated, resourceful individual
- Be a problem owner and solver with a logical approach to solving issues
