Communication is the key! As an Communications and Security Engineer at Mincom you will be part of a highly qualified team of Engineers who provide our clients with market leading communication services. Your role will be to assist our Communications team to reach the next level in service excellence through your knowledge and willingness to provide excellence in customer service.

Specifically, as our next Communications and Security Engineer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist in the effective and timely delivery of Comms services as the appointed secondary agent for designated clients
• Resolve issues and assist with planning maintenance activities to ensure network communications are available to meet our Service Level Agreements
• Provide recommendations to the communications and security infrastructure and support processes.
• Participate in the training plan arranged by the Team Leader
• Work directly with specific external vendors (eg. CISCO / TELSTRA /OPTUS) where appropriate to resolve complex issues.

To be the successful candidate for this new position, you will obviously have outstanding communications skills including verbal, written and IT. You will have a good working knowledge of routing and communications protocols plus general understanding of Cisco hardware & configuration, network analysis and trouble shooting techniques.

Additionally, you will offer the following experience:

• Expertise in at least one Firewalling package.
• Knowledge of Frame Relay and ISDN (PRI and BRI).
• Windows NT/LAN based commercial environment experience advantageous.
• Good understanding of Enterprise Network Management and Reporting tools.
• Understanding of Internet Security and Web Application Delivery.
