Everyone knows the old saying that ends with “you can’t fool all of the people all of the time”. However, in the USA apparently you don’t need to because there are more than enough fools who believe that the intrusion of technology into their privacy will make them safer.

First we had Bradley Manning, then Julian Assange and now we have Ed Snowden. All these young, intelligent, idealistic, truth-seeking, technologically proficient whistleblowers are being targeted by “free-world” governments, egged on by their cheer leaders, for lifelong incarceration, torture and even extra judicial assassination. Enough is enough!

With an election just three months away, the issue of 457 visas and replacing local jobs with foreign workers has raised its ugly head once again. Despite the populist rhetoric however, nobody seems to be asking some important questions.
