Optus disputes PSTN access prices

IT Policy - Regulation

Optus Networks and Optus Mobile have notified the ACCC of separate access disputes with Telstra over the prices Telstra charges for its Domestic PSTN Originating and Terminating Access Services.

These services provide carriage of telephone calls between customer premises equipment and a point of interconnection at, or associated with, a local switch. Access seekers can use these services to carry calls made and received by end-users connected to the access provider's network.

Telstra last week announced plans to increase the price for both these services from one cent per minute to 2.18 cents per minute.
