Sol Trujillo let of the hook on Estimates appearance

IT Policy - Regulation

After publicly stating their desire for Telstra CEO, Sol Trujillo, to attend a Senate Estimates hearing, National Party senators have voted against a motion in the Senate that would have required him to attend.

He said: "It was... [Nationals] senator Nash who said '[Trujillo's] presence at Estimates would greatly assist the committee's examination and understanding of communications issues'." It was also senator Nash who described Mr Trujillo's rejection of the committee's invitation to attend estimates as 'appalling' and 'a snub to the people of Australia'."
