Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Four access disputes have been lodged with the ACCC over the price Hutchison wants to charge other carriers for terminating calls on its CDMA (Orange) network and its 3G (3) network.
Telstra has notified the ACCC of disputes with Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Ltd (HTAL), which operates the Orange network, and with Hutchison 3G Australia Pty Ltd (H3GA). HTAL and H3GA have notified the ACCC of access disputes with Vodafone.
Both HTAL and H3GA have lodged undertakings with the ACCC covering the price and non-price terms and conditions for mobile terminating access services and in late November 2005 the ACCC issued a discussion paper on the undertakings. There are six undertakings in all: three which relate to calls terminating on the 3G network and three for its Orange CDMA network. They are otherwise identical.
Of the three in each set, one relates to calls originating on fixed and overseas networks, one to what Hutchison calls it 'dual rate' MTAS and one to its 'single rate' MTAS. Hutchison is proposing a charge of 18¢/min for all non-mobile originated calls, 12¢/min for calls from mobile carriers that agree to charge Hutchison the same rate to terminate calls on their networks and 21¢/min for those who do not.
Shortly before issuing the discussion paper, the ACCC issued draft decisions on access disputes against Vodafone and Optus over their mobile terminating access services. In each case it proposed a price of 18¢/min until 1 January 2006 and then 15 ¢/min to a date 12 month from the date of each determination.
