ASX-listed M2 Telecommunications Group is to become reseller of
services on the Optus Mobile network and says it plans to launch
services in late September this year. The deal will be extended to
cover the Optus 3G network when that launches later this year. M2's
managing director, Vaughan Bowen, said: "the decision as to which
mobile network was best suited to M2's customers was much deliberated.
In the end, Optus came up with commercial and operational terms which
we felt were aligned closest to the needs of our small & medium
enterprise customers." M2 says it is also in the process of finalising
new wholesale arrangements designed to enhance its broadband data and
fixed line capabilities, which it expects to release over the coming
weeks.
At the end of February the company posted its first set of results
since listing on the ASX in late October last year. It reported EBITDA
for the six months to December 31 2004 of $863,000 and revenue of
$10.99 million.
