The Department of Broadband Communications and the Digital Economy in conjunction with the AIIA is to host a telework forum to help identify how Australian businesses and government agencies can use the catalyst of the NBN to boost the teleworking rate.
According to DBCDE, "[The forum] will showcase Australian businesses and government agencies that are using telework to improve business performance. [It] will highlight the capacity organisations have to realise benefits through increased working from home arrangements, and how the NBN will make this even easier'¦Participants at the forum will also workshop the development of telework in Australia."
It adds: "Australian uptake of telework is currently limited. However, the United States and various countries in the European Union have taken up the benefits of telework more broadly.

DBCDE is also posting relevant information to the LinkedIn Group Telework Forum and has started a discussion group on Twitter under the hashtag #teleworkforum. If it has chosen a venue for the event, it has not to date made that information available on its web site.
