The Shoalhaven City Council in New South Wales has contracted national network service provider, ViaIP, to upgrade their data network with the installation of a premium MPLS based wide area network with enhanced data services and quality of service to support VOIP.
Shoalhaven’s IT manager, John Lenehan, said the ViaIP upgrade to the council’s network would improve business practices across the council, and the architecture’s in-built redundancy would provide business continuity and use of a back up link in times of emergency.
ViaIP says it won the contract with Shoalhaven Council’s after a lengthy and competitive tender process administered by PABX Advisory Services.
