Petersham TAFE is the first university in Australia to take on EC-Council Academy's partnership, and Managing Director, Wilson Wong, says there is a high global demand for information security experts in today's workplace, and it is unlikely to slow down in the foreseeable future.

Bala Subra, Head Teacher, Information Technology, at Petersham TAFE, said the EC-Council Academy courses fit well with the college’s Network Security Advanced Diploma program and the TAFE Degree program.

Subra said the EC-Council courses, to help budding information security professional stay competitive among their peers, were vendor neutral and structured to provide students with core knowledge and skills to identify network vulnerabilities and weaknesses, enabling them to put in place countermeasures for optimum information security.
Subra cited a Frost & Sullivan report which estimated there are 2.28 million information security professionals worldwide, and that the number is expected to grow by 13.2 percent by 2015.
