Finite cracks $100m as skills shortage bites

IT People - Recruitment

Specialist recruiter Finite IT Recruitment Solutions has posted a strong performance, with full year group revenue to 30 June up by 43% to $107 million.  Finite also made its debut in this year’s BRW Fast 100 published on 12 October which recognises Australia’s fastest growing SME’s.

This marks a further year on year increase in revenue for Finite of $32 million, achieved through purely organic growth within the current IT market as a result of our broad experience in the banking and finance, telecoms, commercial, vendor and government sectors.

Finite MD, Tracy Thomson, said: “Prospects remain good for further growth within the IT recruitment sector for the foreseeable future, notwithstanding that it is getting harder to source quality personnel.

"IT contracting and consultancy services remain very strong as is the ongoing demand for IT executive’s.  Finite has undertaken a major office expansion program over the last 12 months across all four offices, including the relocation of our Sydney head office into new purpose built offices in May, and our imminent move into new larger Brisbane premises in November.  This has contributed to our growth capacity and attraction as an employer of choice.  We have also been fortunate in winning some significant new clients during the last 12 months whilst maintaining high performance service levels with our many long standing and highly valued relationships."

Finite says it is currently experiencing a surge in demand for Networking / Infrastructure skills along with Developers (particularly Java, J2EE and .Net) in Sydney, with Architects, Testers, Business Analysts and Project Managers also in high demand.

In Melbourne it's also Network / Infrastructure related roles along with and Business Analysts that are most sought after. The Brisbane market is also crying out for Network / Infrastructure staff and Developers. Meanwhile in Canberra, the highest demand is currently for Developers (mainly Java) and Project Managers.
