Huawei Australia is on the hunt for up to another 100 staff, mostly wireless technologists.

Huawei says it has already exceeded its end 2011 target of 600 staff, double the number at end of 2010 and now employs more than 700 people. It claims also to have increased its localisation from 80 percent to 85 percent, as new staff have been hired to work on a number of major contracts.

During 2011 the company moved into a number of new markets following the creation of Huawei's consumer devices brand (in December 2010)  and launch of the Huawei Enterprise division. "Huawei Devices are now being sold through all major carriers and a growing number of retail outlets, while Huawei Enterprise has already signed its first commercial contract - delivering Australia's first fully-interoperable high-definition Telepresence suite to AARNet," it said.
