Sophos's Forsyth appointed deputy chairman of IIA

Rob Forsyth, Managing Director for Sophos Asia Pacific, a leader in IT security, has been re-appointed to the Internet Industry Association (IIA) Board of Directors for the third consecutive year.

At the Annual General Meeting held last night in Sydney, Rob Forsyth was named Deputy Chairman of the IIA for 2007.

The IIA, Australia’s national internet industry organisation, provides policy input to government and advocacy on a range of business and regulatory issues, promoting laws and initiatives which enhance the internet industry within Australia.

Rob Forsyth joined Sophos Australia in 2001 and was appointed to the role of Managing Director for Sophos’s Asia Pacific operations in January 2006.  He remains based in Sydney.

Prior to joining Sophos, Forsyth spent five years with the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG) as workforce planning and industrial relations program manager, where he was in charge of more than 180,000 paid, volunteer and contract positions.
