ACS CEO Dennis Furini to retire

ICT professional body The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has announced that Dennis Furini, will retire from his position as CEO in May 2007.

Furini joined the ACS as Chief Executive in September 1999, bringing with him over 35 years experience in the ICT industry in a career that has encompassed a diverse range of positions and working environments.

A qualified ICT professional, Dennis Furini has held executive positions with Sydney Water and Philips, and managed his own marketing and professional services business.

Furini, commenting on his decision to retire, said:

“During my working life I have always had a very strong commitment to work.  I have decided that at my time of life, I need to give a little more consideration to my family and myself. By May I will have served as the ACS CEO, with pride, for some seven and one half years. The decision has not been easy, as I have enjoyed the role and its challenges."

The ACS will commence recruitment over the next three months to fill the CEO position.
