Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
AT&T has appointed VS Gopi Gopinath new vice president of AT&T Asia Pacific. He is currently leading a special team as vice president of the GM2006 programme in the US, a role which he joined the company in 2005 to fulfil.
AT&T's announcement offered no explanation a to the nature of GM2006, but when questioned said: it was “the largest outsourcing contract in the US: for a global, complex solution for a major mutlinational customer," The customer will be named a few months hence.
Gopinath will relocate to AT&T's Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong to oversee the company’s sales and channel teams across its 13 regional markets (excluding Japan). He replaces Steve Lowe, who left the company to pursue other opportunities after having held the post since 2003.
From 2001 to 2005, Gopinath was senior vice president of sales and marketing at Equant, based in the US. Before that, he was senior vice president and general manager of Global One Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong and Brussels from 1995 to 2001.
