Rob Lloyd, president of development and sales is charged with tightening connections between customer requirements and innovation, as well as increasing the company's speed-to-market.

Pankaj Patel, executive vice president and chief development officer, remains in charge of Cisco's development organisation but now reports to Mr Lloyd.

Chuck Robbins is the new head of worldwide sales, taking over from Mr Lloyd, to whom he reports.

No other changes have been made to the executive leadership team remains unchanged.

"Cloud computing, mobility and Internet of everything are the most network-centric computing transitions that have ever been, and present Cisco with an opportunity to lead the communications and IT industry for the next decade," said chairman and CEO John Chambers.
