Enterprise mobility solutions vendor, Good Technology, has appointed a new Australian-based head of its Professional Services and Engineering practices in the Asia Pacific region.

Based in Canberra, former VMware senior manager, Nicholas Harris, has been appointed to the position, to oversee Good’s professional service offerings across APAC.

Good Vice President and Corporate General Manager APAC, Jim Watson, said Harris’ primary responsibility was to ensure Good’s solutions were “planned, designed, implemented, tested and documented to meet the business and technical needs of individual customers.”

“Nick is a great addition to our fast-growing team here in Australia.  The provision of technical expertise to enable our customers to successfully deploy and manage Good’s range of secure enterprise mobility solutions with a minimum of disruption to their business is absolutely essential.”

Prior to joining Good, Harris was services sales manager at VMware Australia, and previously he also held solution architect positions with Fujitsu Australia, KAZ and Volante Group.

Harris has 14 years’ experience in the technology industry and holds more than 12 industry certifications from providers, including Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, OGC ITIL and OGC Prince2.

Last week, Good Technology announced the availability of two new professional services, BYOD Policy Construction and Transition Services, to help customers that want to tap the productivity and cost benefits of BYOD, and who Harris said were “grappling how to navigate the business, legal, financial, and HR questions needed to reach agreement by cross-functional stakeholders outside IT and roll out a successful BYOD offering.”
