Data protection and disaster recovery provider Acronis has appointed Andy Purvis as general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

"Andy's enthusiasm and passion for our industry, plus his entrepreneur attitude are a perfect match for our business," said Bill Taylor-Mountford, the company's APAC president.

"I look forward to the further growth in ANZ under his leadership,"

Mr Purvis has over 25 years experience in leadership and management roles in Europe, the US, and the Asia-Pacific region.

This includes serving as an executive director at Dell (working on enterprise solutions and services in the APAC region) and as COO at Brennan IT.

"Acronis is an established company with ten years' experience in backup and disaster recovery," said Mr Purvis.

"Its ability to offer a single, integrated solution for data protection and disaster recovery across physical, virtual and cloud environments is a compelling story for our channel and customers.

"I am very excited to join the company as we enter the next phase of our growth and have the opportunity to define and execute on our go to market strategy here in ANZ."
