Security intelligence and analytics provider, Solera Networks, has appointed network security veteran Charles Cote as managing director of its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) division.

Steve Shillingford, president and CEO of Solera Networks said Sydney-based Cote would drive expansion efforts in Australia and New Zealand, “focusing on identifying business opportunities, strengthening the channel program and broadening the Solera Networks customer base.”

“Charles’ proven managerial, leadership and business expertise in the security industry further strengthens our international presence and expansion in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Charles will help address the increased demand for our big data security analytics solutions and ensure that we are meeting the growing demand for comprehensive, real-time security intelligence.”

Cote, who has more than 18 years’ experience in the IT and network security industry, specialising in sales, marketing, operations and engineering, joins Solera, from Dell Wyse – formerly Wyse Technology - where he was director of ANZ.

Cote also worked for security provider, FireEye, where he spearheaded the company’s penetration into the ANZ market, and was South Pacific regional director at Fortinet and regional sales manager and country manager at Extreme Networks.

“I look forward to leading the expansion of Solera’s big data security intelligence and analytics technology to enterprises and partners throughout the South Pacific region. In a threat landscape that is constantly evolving, Solera’s advanced persistent security delivers the kind of big insight and big intelligence needed to detect and see today’s advanced malware and zero-day attacks,” Cote said.
