IP specialist Allied Telesis has appointed James Burke as enterprise business development manager.

In this role, Burke will be responsible for channel partner support and business development for a range of video, voice and data network solutions to clients in multiple markets, including government, healthcare, defence, education, retail, hospitality and network service providers.

"James's extensive knowledge of the market and deep experience will be invaluable to our operations as we develop our solutions and services to help customers implement robust network infrastructure," said ANZ country manager Scott Penno.

"James has a proven track record of strategic planning and the application of channel delivery that will help us meet the increasing demand we are seeing here in Australia."

Mr Burke spent the last five years as a business development manager at Hitachi Australia.

He previously worked at Toshiba Information Systems in the UK in several roles, including business development executive for public sector business.

Mr Burke has also worked for Europa Merchant Services as an IT field sales specialist.
