EMC has promoted David Webster to the role of president for Asia Pacific and Japan, and appointed a 12-year veteran of the company as his successor in the Australia and New Zealand role.

Mr Webster was previously president for South East Asia as well as leading the company's ANZ operation.

His successor as regional country manager for Australia and New Zealand is Alister Dias, who was previously regional general manager,

I have had the pleasure of working with Alister for the past six years. I have confidence that his history of achieving great results for EMC by ensuring the success of those around him will continue as he takes on this expanded leadership role," said Mr Webster.

Mr Dias has previously worked as an EMC senior account director in Australia, as country manager in New Zealand.

Before joining EMC he worked for Computer Associates and Soft Centre.
