Senior Queensland public servant Tony Hayes has been reappointed international vice president of ISACA, the global association for IT governance, assurance and security professionals.

Mr Hayes is associate director-general of the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, and adjunct professor in the School of Business at the University of Queensland. He has been a member of ISACA since 2003, and is also chair of the finance committee and a member of the strategic advisory council. Mr Hayes was previously a director of ISACA and chair of the relations board. In addition, he was previously a member of the IT Governance Institute board of trustees.

"ISACA has benefitted from Tony's strategic viewpoint and expertise in organisational improvement and planning," said Greg Grocholski, chief audit executive at The Dow Chemical Company and newly-elected international president of ISACA. "He is a valuable contributor to the ISACA board."

ISACA's role is to develop international standards for information systems auditing and control as well as the COBIT framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT, and to provide education, training and the administration of the CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC designations.
