NetIQ, an Attachmate unit, has appointed Steve Stavridis as PlateSpin product marketing manager for NetIQ Asia Pacific.

"Steve's breadth and depth of industry experience will accelerate the success of the PlateSpin portfolio in the region, which we believe is a huge opportunity," said Boris Ivancic, vice president and general manager for the Attachmate Group in Asia Pacific.

PlateSpin is NetIQ's server workload management family of products.

Mr Stavridis was most recently a senior systems engineer at Symantec. He previously worked for Sun Microsystems, Dimension Data, CNI Group and Integration Design.
