Mr Slattery will serve as executive director and deputy chairman. Company chairman Roger Clarke described Mr Scroggie's appointment as "a significant coup"
NEXTDC revealed that Mr Scroggie will received a fixed annual salary of $1.2 million plus - subject to shareholder approval - participation in the company's loan funded share plan in an amount of $4 million in four equal trances with issue prices of $1.80, $2, $2.50 and $3. The company's shares traded this morning at $1.76, but were over $2 earlier this year.
If shareholders do not approve the deal, Mr Scroggie will receive equivalent cash bonuses.
Mr Scroggie previously worked for Symantec, most recently as vice president and managing director of the Pacific region. Earlier in his career he worked for Veritas (now part of Symantec), Computer Associates, EMC and Fujitsu.
He currently holds the position of Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Business, Economics & Law at La Trobe University.
Mr Scroggie is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Australian Sales and Marketing Institute, and a Graduate of the University of Southern Queensland with an Advanced Certificate in Information Technology, a Graduate Certificate in Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, and a Master of Business Administration.
