Ecommerce platform provider BigCommerce has appointed Steven Power as its chief revenue officer.

"We hit a stretch point recently at the leadership level and realised that we needed to create room for a talented and experienced sales and marketing professional in our C-suite - Steven was the obvious choice," said co-founder Eddie Machaalani.

Co-founder Mitch Harper added that Mr Power "brings a dynamic and exciting entrepreneurial mindset to corporate roles and is exactly the kind of innovative leader that BigCommerce requires at this stage in our growth."

Mr Power most recently worked as chief sales officer at ReachLocal. He was promoted to that role after spending four years as the CEO of the company's Australian operation. He previously worked for PMP, Retail Directions, and Shell.
