Data protection software specialist FalconStor has appointed Vic Masi as country manager of ANZ and Suresh Nair as general manager and vice president for APAC.

"With these key appointments in ANZ and APAC, we have succeeded in developing a leadership team that can guide the company to greater growth in these regions," said president and CEO Jim McNiel.

"FalconStor has a real commitment to the ANZ market, and we are delighted that Vic has joined the company's executive staff," he added. "Vic's first charge has been to expand his regional sales and presales support team. We have attracted exceptional individuals who will support our vision of becoming a world leader in data protection by greatly expanding our end user and channel partner support in this fast-growing region."

Mr Masi has been in the technology industry for 20 years, including stints with Oracle and Netsuite.

Mr Nair was most recently regional sales director for Asia Pacific and Japan at EMC, and has also held senior regional positions at NetApp, McData, and HP.
