New Zealand cloud-based email security and platform as a service provider, SMX, has appointed former Hewlett Packard senior account manager, Tiaan Blaauw, as sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Blaauw worked for four years at HP within the technology services division of the company's New Zealand enterprise business.  He previously worked as head of sales and implementations with Medtech Global, the largest supplier of software applications to the New Zealand primary health sector, and before that was a consultant to the Metropolitan Health Group in South Africa.

SMX CEO and co-founder, Jesse Ball, said Blaauw's understanding of the technology, his strong relationships across key target SMX industry sectors, and his proven sales track record would allow him to "hit the ground running as SMX continues its strong growth across Australia and New Zealand.'
