The Australian arm of wireless music systems vendor, Sonos, has boosted its Aussies sale team as it looks to further lift its brand presence with retailers across Australia next year.

Niv Novak, head of Sonos Australia, announced the appointment of Trevor Rooney, formerly with Sydney-based audio-visual 'institution', Len Wallis Audio, as Sonos lead sales man in Australia.

'I'm extremely excited to have Trevor join our team. Trevor's expertise in the specialist audio space will be integral in shaping and expanding our brand with retailers across Australia in 2012,' Novak said.

According to Novak, Rooney's appointment as national sales manager comes after a year of enormous growth for Sonos in both sales and consumer awareness globally as well as in Australia.

Novbak said Sonos was currently the leading manufacturer of wireless music systems worldwide, and the company's Australian market share was developing in leaps and bounds. 'This was reflected in last week's Smarthouse, 2012 Smart Awards, where the Sonos Wireless HiFi System brought home the gong for Product of the Year.'

Rooney takes up his appointment with Sonos next month.
