ViDM grabs executives from rivals

Advertising technologies provider, Venture in Digital Media (ViDM) has appointed former Yahoo!7 and Fairfax Digital senior team members to help drive the new Australian company's growth in the Asia Pacific market.

ViDM chief executive, Willie Pang said today that 12-year online industry veteran and former Yahoo!7 head of publisher partnerships, Angus McDonald, had been appointed director business development at ViDM and Emerge Digital. The still to be established Emerge Digital is to be launched by McDonald for ViDM as an independent private sell-side platform (SSP) technology provider in Australia and South East Asia.

Pang also announced the appointment of former Fairfax Digital technology director and head of technology at Yahoo!7, Neil Wilkinson, as ViDM and Emerge Digital director innovation and technology.

Founded in August this year, Pang says ViDM sources and implements the world's most advanced advertising and content monetisation technologies for Australian online publishers and advertisers, and the appointment of McDonald and Wilkinson follows the company's September acquisition of Amplify and coincides with an initial round of capital raising.

'We established ViDM based on three pillars of providing heavyweight resources, an international network combined with a solid commercial infrastructure.
