'Darren brings over 17 years' experience in the delivery of complex managed services for technology customers across Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Darren's skills and knowledge will be a great asset to the business and to APC's customers,' Tyrer said.
Tyrer said Burnnand would be responsible for leading APC's existing services team of electrical, mechanical and software engineers who are driving data centre design and management strategies that deliver risk mitigation and energy savings to APC's customers.
According to Burnnand, APC research shows 'energy usage in building and industry is responsible for 44% of greenhouse gas emissions and 53% of carbon dioxide emissions,' and he said, 'by going green and adopting more energy efficient technology and solutions, organisations can help mitigate future electricity price increases and help to reduce carbon emissions and cost.'
Burnnand's appointments caps off a recent series of senior appointments, following what the company says is strong growth in the data centre market across Australia and New Zealand. In July, Paul Tyrer was appointed vice president to lead APC's growth strategy across the Pacific, and in June Andrew Kirker was promoted to sales director Pacific, following a role as APC Country Manager for New Zealand.
