US-based global IT vendor, FireScope has brought a former Suncorp Business Services CEO, Jeff Smith onto its board as the company enters the next phase of its development.
{loadpositon peter}FireScope CEO, Steven Cotton, said Smith had has joined the company's board of directors and was 'recognised as a thought leader and innovator and has been awarded CIO of the year twice since 2003, once by the press and once by his peers.'
Cotton said Smith had been in the IT industry for over 27 years, and had he held numerous CIO or equivalent roles, including CIO for Telstra, and leadership positions in a number of world-class companies including Honeywell, Toyota and Charles Schwab.
"I am pleased to welcome Jeff Smith, CEO of SunCorp's Business Services to FireScope's Board of Directors. Jeff's joining our Board is a further validation of the FireScope story and that the problems FireScope is solving for its customers is important work," Cotton said.
"FireScope's Board is independent and is responsible for advocating our customers, partners and shareholder interests. Jeff will be an excellent voice for our key constituents as well as helping me lead our management team in achieving our vision of being 'The leader in aligning customers' technology performance to the business and customer experiences'."
Cotton said Suncorp was a current Firescope customer, but Smith would not participate in any discussions or decisions regarding the business relationship between the two companies.
