Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Nokia and Siemens have named two more top executives for their 50-50 joint venture, announced earlier this week that combines the Networks Business Group of Nokia and the carrier-related operations of Siemens Communications.
The new appointments are
- Mika Vehviläinen, COO. He is currently senior vice president & general manager, Core Networks, Nokia. He will have overall responsibility for: radio access, operation support systems, service core and applications, IP networking and transport and broadband access. He will also oversee operations (sourcing, manufacturing and logistics) and the technology platforms and quality organisation.
- Karl-Christoph Caselitz, chief market operations officer. He is currently president of mobile networks, Siemens Communications and will have responsibility for regional operations, management of global accounts, and marketing and sales management. He will also oversee the services business unit of Nokia Siemens Networks.
- Peter Schönhofer, CFO (previously announced). He is currently a member of the executive board of Siemens AG Austria and will be responsible for all financial activities of Nokia Siemens Networks, as well as information technology and intellectual property rights.
The new company is expected to start operations by January 1, 2007. The appointments will become effective immediately upon the closing of the merger.
