Unified communications software provider Mitel has appointed Richard McBee as its new chief executive officer.
"Rich brings with him exceptional operational leadership and a proven ability to drive growth and increase market share," said board chairman Terence Matthews. "We are excited to have Rich lead our talented management team and position the company for long-term sustainable growth."

Mr McBee will take up the position later this month, and is expected to be appointed to the Mitel board at its next meeting.
He most recently served as president of the communications and enterprise group at Danaher Corporation, which he joined when the company acquired Tektronix. He was a 15 year veteran at Tektronix, holding a variety of positions including senior vice president and general manager of the communications business unit; senior vice president of worldwide sales, service and marketing; and vice president of marketing and strategic initiatives.
Mr McBee holds an MBA from Chapman School of Business and Economics, and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy.
