Enterprise software vendor, Pronto Software, has appointed a new product manager for retail to, to spearhead the development and take-to-market strategy of the company's retail applications.
Pronto managing director, David Jackman said Desmond Carroll had been appointed product manager - retail and would work closely with the company's R&D team to ensure its flagship product, PRONTO-Xi, 'continues to evolve as a flexible, fully integrated retail solution that caters for the varying needs of retail businesses.'
'Desmond brings invaluable industry knowledge to Pronto, with over 20 years retail experience. Having been directly involved with large POS implementations, he understands exactly what's required from an end-user perspective, which will ensure we continue to meet our customer needs going forward.'
According to Carroll, PRONTO-Xi's competitive advantage lies in its flexibility. 'Unlike many ERP solutions, PRONTO-Xi is not rigid. This allows us to deal with a diverse range of retailers, including both company owned and franchised operations.'
Carroll said a key focus would be to ensure that Pronto continues to develop and grow in line with the dynamic changes taking place in the retail market.
Prior to joining Pronto, Carroll held several management positions in multi-site retail businesses, including Spotlight Australia and Priceline.
