Symantec managing director Craig Scroggie has become a non-executive director of NEXTDC.

Data centre operator NEXTDC has appointed Craig Scroggie as a non-executive director. Mr Scroggie is also vice president and managing director for Symantec in the Pacific region.

'With the rapid growth of information, the demand to deliver high-performing and energy efficient data centre facilities in Australia and New Zealand is very strong," said Mr Scroggie.

"NEXTDC's mission to build an Australia-wide network of data centres that are both smart and green is extremely powerful and I look forward to making a significant contribution to the board of directors and the company's overall success," he added.

NEXTDC chairman Roger Clarke welcomed Mr Scroggie to the board, saying "Craig is a strong leader with a great track record. He brings with him a wealth of experience, industry knowledge as well as extensive corporate governance experience that is critical to the success of NEXTDC."

"Attracting a high calibre director like Craig reinforces NEXTDC's commitment to the Australian market as the business enters into a phase of growth and expansion of its data centre portfolio," added Mr Clarke.
