IT security and data protection firm, Sophos, has undertaken a raft of new hires and promotions in its Australian operations as it looks to further grow its business in the local and Asia Pacific regional market.
According to Rob Forsyth, Asia Pacific managing director of Sophos, the new hires and promotions signal 'consistent growth for the company as it continues to invest in the best skills, resources and products to provide full IT security protection for its customers and partners.'
Forsyth says that, over the course of the year the company brought on some 'highly talented individuals to complement the business across many departments, including sales, customer retention, technical support and SophosLabs.'
'We've seen very positive growth in the company, so it's an environment where employees have the scope to further develop their own careers and have the opportunity work with some seasoned IT security specialists. 'I've been with Sophos for close to a decade and I certainly haven't had a dull day yet!'
Forsyth announced that Zoe Nicholson has been promoted to the role of director of channel sales in Asia Pacific after six years as channel sales manager of Sophos in Australia and New Zealand.
'My focus is on increasing the value and gross margin capabilities of Sophos's Partner Program to resellers across Asia Pacific. We offer our partners the opportunity to make the most of a value-based program that rewards those that are committed to achieving great results,' Nicholson said.
Prior to joining Sophos, Nicholson held senior roles with Psion Teklogix and Research Machines in the UK. She joined Sophos at the company's Abingdon, UK headquarters, before moving to Sophos's Australian in September 2004.
Forsyth also said that new recruit Tom Castell has been appointed to the position of channel sales executive in the Southern Region, and will be focused on maintaining and developing the channel business specifically in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Other new Sophos recruits include Shayne Cooper, business development manager WA; Ed Garnett, business development manager ACT; and Andrew Crawford-Flett, account executive Queensland.
